Coming-of-Age Day!

Hello~♪ Last Sunday, it was a Coming-of-Age Day. In Japan, everyone who is twenty years old is celebrated for starting the grown-up days on the day. Girls wear long-sleeved "kimonos" and boys wear "hakamas- long pleated skirts worn over kimonos - or suits on the coming of age celebration. It's a very happy day!

I am nineteen years old now, but I'll be twenty next week and I attended the celebration. I woke up at 3:30 a.m. and started the preparation. I wore kimono, put on make up and had my hair dressed at the beauty parlor from 4:00 a.m. I was excited at my happy day.

I was taken pictures with my family at a photo studio. After that, I went to the Kofu Citizen Hall. I saw many my junior high school friends at the hall. It was really a sweet pleasure to see my old friends again after such a long time. The day was one of the happiest events of my life!

  1. You look so pretty! Though I wore pink Kimono, I think black is more beautiful like you. Enjoy your days of 20 years old!
